Which parent should stay with the baby at home?

At home, the mother usually stays with the baby at home, but it is worth considering if parents are more open to asking whether it is economical to have a mother or father stay at home with the baby.

Which parent should stay with the baby at home?

In Hungary, the mother is staying home with the baby, according to 2016 data, even the 10 percent of families where the father goes to GYED is reported by penzcentrum.hu. There are many reasons for this, but it can also be due to social habits and family roles that men generally look for more than women. However, if parents are open to not being a mother, it is worthwhile to clear the request. These are:
  • Which parent is earning how much?
  • Who is eligible for GYED?
  • Who would have the amount of GYED?
  • Does the parent have a chance for telecommuting?
  • GYED is not subject to individual rights, but depends on your previous earnings. You can get GYED who was insured for at least 365 days in the 2 years before the baby was born. The amount of GYED is 70 percent of the parent's previous salary. There is a ceiling for the sum of the childcare allowance: this minimum is twice the 70 percent, that is, after deducting pensioners and deducting the personal income tax, a maximum of HUF 160,650. (The amount will increase to $ 173,502 for the future, because the minimum price will also increase by 8 percent.) To keep things simple, it's not only important to look at who's earning, but also your ad format, for example. in the case of ekho, they are deducted less tax, so they are not entitled to pay, but only the minimum wage is 70 percent. With two parents paying a lot of money, it is worth it for the family to stay home for less. This means less money loss. Higher earning parents can also benefit from more family tax breaks. Penzcentrum.hu has used an example to help remedy this situation: If a parent has a net salary of $ 229,500, he earns $ 345,113 gross. If the other parent with a higher gross salary is $ 400,000, he or she is earning $ 266,000 net. The higher earning parent would receive only HUF 160,650 GYED, but between the child and his / her salary would not be HUF 68,850 but HUF 105,350. So the family is up to $ 36,500 plus the lower wage at home. There is also a chance for the baby to be back to work at the age of 6 months. Your wisdom can be demanded, but if it can be solved, you can also work in telecommuting. This is the GYED extra: the parent receives both the payment and the GYED. So, a parent who can work short-time from home can be worth staying at home. The child is extra just as long as the child himself / herself (until the baby is 2 years old), so you do not have to start working for your baby at 6 months.
Such as is the family discount. This now looks like a monthly and discounted dependent:
  • $ 20,000 ($ 10,000 in ad sales) per dependent,
  • $ 100,000 ($ 15,000 in translations) took two,
  • 220,000 forints ($ 33,000 in adverts) for three or more dependents
  • So, if you have a first child, the net salary of the working parent will be HUF 10,000 more per month. In addition to this, the family pills, for one child this is 12,200 HUF. We can count on maternity support, which is a one-off benefit, subject to a total amount of HUF 125,125 (the oldest old age pension). The above examples are an economic question to ask for who to stay with your baby at home, but of course, this is not just an (economic) request, but there are many other aspects to consider before making a decision.
